The Tuscan that is healthy

Difficult to imagine, even for a moment the Tuscan landscape without our olive trees.
In fact, the olive tree has always been the undisputed protagonist of this territory and its precious oil extracted from fruits always manages to tell the unique heritage of wisdom, smells and tastes of the most authentic Tuscan tradition.

A such healthy tradition that already well before its virtues very scientifically acclaimed, such as the  high antioxidant activity given by the rich presence of polyphenols, making it particularly suitable in the feeding of children, made extensive use of Extra Virgin Olive Oil in its  most characteristic and famous gastronomic specialities,  both as a remedy widely used in popular medicine as well as in beauty treatments.

 

 

 

It is precisely to protect this heritage of values and to ensure the quality and authenticity of the product that since 1997 more than ten thousand farmers, who cultivate more than one hundred and fifty thousand acres of Tuscany over six and a half million olive trees, are grouped under the Consortium for the protection of the Tuscan Extra Virgin Olive Oil "IGP".

And this is the only body able to award Extra Virgin Olive Oil "IGP" Toscano recognition. A certification stating that all stages of production, from cultivation and harvesting of the olives and their pressing to bottling, are carried out exclusively in Tuscany and that the chemical, physical and organolectic quality of the product complies with the parameters required by the rigorous Production Regulation.
The Consortium for the protection of the original Tuscan Oil
The Consortium for the protection of the Tuscan Extra Virgin Olive Oil "IGP" guarantees the authenticity of Tuscan Olive Oil; an oil which is made mandatory from the olive-grove  to the oil-press to bottling within the territorial borders of Tuscany, as required by the Production Regulation of the Tuscan Extra Virgin Olive Oil with Protected Geographical Indication whose conformity is evidenced by Certiquality, the body authorized by the Ministry of activities for controls.

 

 

For this reason the Tuscan Extra Virgin Olive Oil "IGP"  - Olio Extravergine di Oliva "Toscano IGP" -  is immediately recognized even before tasting it, looking at the markings on the neck of the bottle and the identification number that is printed above. A number that is the key to enter into the section of traceability of www.oliotoscanoigp.it going back to its history, who produced it and by whom it was  bottled.

And to discover and appreciate step by step the different aspects of its great character. Like the balanced flavour that can sometimes take several nuances, hints of artichoke, more or less pronounced than that of fruit more or less intense, as different as  it is the territory where it is produced by rolling hills to steep slopes, to the campaigns that slope toward the sea.
